There’s a mistake I see happening everywhere. In fact, it’s one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made in the past. The mistake is this: Many business owners never get clear about WHO their market is, IF there’s a demand for their product or service, or HOW they will market and sell their products or services. They only know that the business idea they were given was a gift from God and therefore it MUST be destined to work in the marketplace!

If you are a business owner with incredible gifts and talents, but you’re unwilling to get serious about sales, marketing and money because you say, “God will provide for me,” listen up. Yes, God does provide. But, remember that money doesn’t drop from the heavens; it is given to you through human hands (your target market’s hands), in exchange for the products and services you provide and sell.

If your idea or dream feels like a spark of the Divine, that is a good start! But even the greatest ideas, the greatest dreams have to be relevant and delivered to your market to secure income and success. So, before you put your big idea into big action, take the following steps. (You’ll thank me later.)

Step One:

Research – Research your idea to see if there is already an established market demand for your service or product. This step can be as simple as a Google search to see if other people have successful businesses in a similar area. I also recommend you go to the bookstore and look to see if there are books on the topic your business idea is based on. The more research you do, and the more similar enterprises you find, the better. (Competition means there’s a market for your product/service.)

Step Two:

Identify – Identify your specific target market. You need to become crystal clear on who your target market is, because this will help you execute a marketing plan that simultaneously attracts those people you feel called to work with, and repels those people you don’t. Repel may be a strong word, but it’s true. Your Divine gift is not going to be expressed at its highest potential when you have clients who drain your energy, don’t pay you enough money, make mountains out of mole hills and don’t respect your time. And, that’s exactly what happens when you attract the wrong type of client.

Step Three:

“Sell” Finally, you’ve got to get comfortable with selling. I’m not talking about the “cheesy car salesman” type of selling. I’m talking about selling something you believe in because you know your product or service matches the needs of your prospect or client. Take comfort in the fact that conscious business marketing is totally ethical. It has nothing to do with “closing the deal” but everything to do with “opening a conversation” about the ways in which you solve problems for your clients. Sadly, I see many entrepreneurs completely miss the point when it comes to connecting with their market. Without the connection to your market, you have no business. Remember, all successful businesses are the solutions to someone’s problem.

The bottom line is, as a conscious entrepreneur, you have to go beyond the big idea. You must be clear about who your market is and how you can reach them with your message. And, you need to embrace the value of your product or service and ask for what you’re worth!

The online video marketing community is buzzing these days with news that YouTube is on a rampage. They are shutting down accounts right and left, without any warning whatsoever! Thousands of online video marketers have been affected by this already, and YouTube is still on the war path.

Imagine putting long hours into creating online videos that get you on the front page of Google. You’ve got a nice steady stream of free targeted web traffic on a daily basis. Maybe you even paid big bucks for online video training and you followed the advice of the pros. The leads are coming in and life is good.

Now imagine trying to log in and finding out your account has been permanently disabled. And guess what, there is no way for you to get it back. All of your hard work is down the tubes, no pun intended. You are no longer on the front page of google, or any page for that matter. If you don’t want this to happen to you, and hopefully it hasn’t already, here are some online video marketing guidelines for avoiding the wrath of the mighty YouTube.

1. DO NOT create multiple accounts. Only create 1 YouTube account, no matter what you have been told in the past. The rules are changing. You can still have multiple channels within your single account.

2. DO NOT upload the same video with a different title, keyword, description, etc.  Unless you want to get shutdown and lose everything. Only 1 upload of a video.

3. DO NOT use software to add friends on your channel.

4. DO NOT use software to add comments to your videos.

5. DO NOT purchase YouTube views. Create good videos, use viral networking, and get views naturally.

6. DO NOT spam your video description, title or tags with keywords.

7. DO NOT use Traffic Geyser to upload your videos to YouTube. However, you can still use Traffic Geyser to upload to other video hosting sites.

Bottom line, create a single account, upload a video once, avoid software such as TubeBlasterPro and Traffic Geyser, and no spamming titles, descriptions, or tags. If you try to “game” the system, the penalty is very high. Don’t do it, you will get caught!

Internet marketing has presented itself in many different ways, but one I commonly see underestimated is video. I have been asked many times why I would want to add a video or two when marketing my website since I do not get a backlink.  To these people I say that Google is not the only search platform you need to be worried with when marketing a website.  You Tube and Daily Motion both offer excellent platforms for the internet marketer to expand their marketing campaign.  Videos are also an excellent way to increase the branding of a website and place a face behind the words making it possible to increase the trust between you and your visitors.  This is important for anyone trying to make money online; remember if people do not trust you they will not participate in your affiliate program or buy your goods so take every chance you can to seem personal rather than superficial.

 

Before you begin your video marketing you first must be in the right mind set.  What this means is if you do not want to redo the video over and over then it is important to have everything set up and ready to go before you begin.  Personally I find it very helpful to spend a little money on a dry erase board and some markers then write each subject that I wish to talk about in the video.  Next place the board right behind the webcam or digital video camera so when you’re looking at the board it does not look like your looking away from the camera.  Another important thing to do is make sure that you are in a quite location; I have seen many videos outdoors where I could barely hear the person talking. It is also important to be in a well lit room and take a little time to adjust everything behind you so there will be nothing to take the attention of the viewer away from what you are saying.

 

Practice taking videos as  well, I found out early in my video marketing that I am camera shy so remember to rehearse so when it is action time you will be able to perform. These tips should give you a good start in your video marketing campaign.
