The Top 10 Mistakes Made By Email Marketers
Email marketing isn’t new or complex. Yet we see the same mistakes being made over and over again by the marketing executives, sales professionals and owners of small businesses.
They are not able to reap the rewards of email marketing and abandon this potent channel of marketing too early. This is a lose-lose situation for your and your prospects.
If done properly & correctly, email marketing is a very effective medium to generate new leads, and build regular contact with your customers and prospects. It can easily help you generate new sales and meet your targets.
Take care of these top 10 mistakes and you are on your way to new sales!
1. Underestimating current customer list – This is by far the biggest mistake I see. Marketers just disregard their current customer list, and leave money on the table. Even worse, most have no systematic way of capturing their customer’s email and contact details in a common list. They are always on the lookout for a fresh list, a competitor’s list, or anyone else list, except building and nurturing their own list.
A consolidated customer email list can be easily used to market new products to existing customers or to get repeat orders if done regularly and consistently. Existing customers have seen your product and service before, they know you, and are more likely to buy from you again.
In a study, it was found that all things being equal, people would do business with those they know already. So why waste your list?
2. No specific target – One big, long message for everyone is no longer smart or effective. Nothing works this fast way. Now the trend is to do personalized, 1 to 1 marketing. If your standard message is for all prospects in all industries, chances are that it does not address anyone needs.
It is best to send several small, targeted emails to focus groups, which you can track to see what works in which industry, and who opened which mail. With this powerful arsenal, you can focus your efforts on those chosen few to spend your time upon, and generate sales with a much bigger ROI.
3. Using cheap lists – Using 300,000 emails from a $100 CD is bound to fail. These email addresses are mostly defunct, and most are acquired through snooping and email extraction from forums and websites.
Most will not be from your target market anyway. Just sending a blatant marketing message is a sure-fire way to get yourself banned from major Internet Service Providers. Anti-spamming laws are catching fast in most countries, so beware of such tactics.
You can either buy a good list of your target group from reputed list brokers, or start compiling your own house list of all past and current prospects, customers, vendors, suppliers, contractors to market to them.
4. No system to measure response – Most marketing departments just continue to send out message after message: No measurement of ROI, no evaluation of efforts, and no mechanism to evaluate the response of past messages. No wonder such efforts hardly bring in any results or prospects.
A systematic measurement system is very important. With emails, you can tag each and every link, email account and email sent, so that when it is opened or clicked, you can immediately know who is interested, who is keen to buy, what product, and how eagerly.
With a good measurement system in place, you can call those few that spent time with your message, or on your website, and by knowing their browsing behavior, you can customise future messages for them. Market something that they have shown interest on, and you are closer to another sale.
5. No clear goal or strategy – Start with the right goal and marketing strategy. Your first goal should be to establish trust and credibility within your target market.
Secondly, get the prospect interested enough in what you are selling, so that they are willing to give you their contact information, and trust you to provide them with more information.
Thirdly, your marketing message should be sent out regularly so that the prospect expects it, waits for it, and it shows to them that you are consistent, reliable, and trustworthy.
Remember, marketing exists to generate leads, prospects and help Sales and Delivery teams to close the deals, & not for any other purpose. So focus, and strategize on these lines.
6. Marketing folks don’t have time to update anyone about their initiatives – Most of the time, the services folks, the receptionist and other employees of the company are not even aware of what marketing is up to.
So when a prospect calls the office to talk about the offer made in the email, neither the receptionist has a clue, nor the employee from the service department. None has seen the email, and have no idea who to refer this prospect to. They route the calls from one department to another. Here goes another lost sales…
Marketing efforts need to be integrated over the entire organization, and everyone should understand the need & importance of what’s going on.
7. Marketing message is inconsistent – Many marketing firms just send out a message, without making sure that it is consistent with the other company collateral. It is not even properly linked to the company’s website, and does not incorporate the complete office address, telephone, fax, contact information.
Just giving an email address is not sufficient to build trust and prove that yours is a genuine offer. Make sure you provide full contact information from all the various channels, and don’t hide it in fine print. Make it big enough to read without squinting.
8. Boring marketing message or Ad copy – A long repetitive message is no way to capture the prospects attention. You can’t watch a boring movie even if you paid for the tickets, so who is going to read your unasked for marketing email if you are not even addressing the problem.
Most messages spend countless paragraphs talking about what they offer, their products, services, and me, me, me. There’s nothing in the message to catch the reader’s attention. You need to talk about the problems faced by your target market, their industry, and their issues.
Once you establish a bond by acknowledging that you know about their problems, they will be more amenable to your message, and products.
9. Dropping prospects half way – It is a proven fact that a new prospect will take an average of 5-7 different interactions before they build enough trust on you, your company and your products or services before thinking of buying from you.
So if you drop prospects after meeting them once or twice, thinking that they are not qualified or do not seem interested, you are losing sales too quickly.
Continuing to hand hold them and stay in constant contact will help you in the long run, as you will be familiar to the prospect. People love to do business with people they know, and not strangers. Email is the most cost-effective way to stay in touch.
10. Not interested in educating the prospect – The marketers are so focused on sales, that they do not spend enough time with their prospects to educate them. Remember that if you service a prospect well, they will most likely convert to a paying customer sooner or later.
Have patience. Use email to market to them regularly with information, education, free offers etc. until they build enough trust to buy from you.
Conclusion:
Email marketing has been proven time and again, if done correctly. Big companies like IBM, Amazon, HP are using it effectively, and smaller companies are catching up fast in understanding its marketing reach.
With its lows cost, and effectiveness, email marketing helps to build long term relationships with your target audience. Use it wisely, and ye shall reap its rewards!

Effective Marketing Results In Sales
A successful business is one that report continuous sales. What can a business do to insure continuous sales? The simple answer – customers. Without a good customer base most businesses are unable to function properly and profits are minimal. What can a business or company do to generate customers? To attract new customers, a business or company needs to find effective marketing techniques. Effective marketing results in sales. Marketing, if carefully planned and carried out can change a small business into a large prosperous chain of businesses. The key is to find a marketing strategy that works.
If you have a business and believe in what you are selling, marketing your product or service properly could cause an enormous turn around in sales. As the owner, you need to stand behind your product or service and promote it whenever and wherever an opportunity presents itself. If a door doesn’t open, you need to get out there and create opportunities to advertise your business and educate potential customers about your product or service. This is particularly essential in a small business setting. Many small businesses start up and with a couple of years, they are shutting the doors, if they last that long. This is sad and nobody likes to see a person go out of business but if the sales aren’t there and a business is not functioning to its full potential, the end result is usually closure. This outcome could very well be changed if the owner was unwavering with their marketing plan. Using effective marketing techniques results in sales and those sales would keep the business alive and successful.
A good marketing idea for any business, whether it’s promoting a product or business, is to ask customers to fill out a questionnaire. It helps to know if customers are pleased or disappointed with a business. If they are contented with the service they are receiving, you know you’re doing something right. If you receive negative comments, you know something needs to be changed. This can definitely be a learning tool and help you make smart decisions about marketing. These questionnaires may be your key to finding effective marketing techniques which will result in business sales.
Marketing will only be effective if the right venues are chosen. Where do you think you’ll find the most sales? Do you think you should try a different venue such as the Internet? Online shopping seems to be quite popular nowadays and because of the large customer base, your sales may sky-rocket by promoting your product or service via an Internet web site. Many people are looking for convenient ways of conducting business and the Internet is proving to be the way. Sales are required to keep your dream alive and as a businessperson you must insure your product or service keeps selling.

The Difference Between Marketing and Selling
There is a lot of confusion about the differences between marketing and sales. Marketing is in fact the act of ‘bringing the product to market’. Selling is about closing a sale and turning a potential buyer into a customer. Closing a sale is also called a conversion.
Marketing is primarily about research – identifying potential buyers and then finding the best way to introduce your product to them. This usually involves some form of advertising. When you have identified the potential customers, marketers will develop what is called the ‘marketing message’ to try and reach them. The more this message resonates with what the prospective customers need or want, the more likely it is that you will be able to sell your product or service to them.
There are some advantages to online marketing as opposed to offline marketing. Marketers can perform market research using keyword searches or search engines, using various programs to help them. The marketers can get a lot of useful, real time data in this way about what people are looking for online and this is often free or very cheap to do. It is also extremely valuable information to have.
Marketing and sales do often overlap into what is called ‘the pitch’. This is how you deliver the marketing message and is how the marketing turns into the sale.
If the marketing has been done well, the message will be clearly delivered in the sales copy, ad copy or however you communicate with the customer. Building trust with the customer and presenting your message clearly is very important.
Selling is about overcoming objections. It is a one to one technique where the seller helps the buyer to reach a decision. As part of the marketing process, you need to uncover potential objections which might prevent someone buying what you have for sale. Selling is when all marketing research is applied at the point of sale. The better you know the customers’ potential objections, the better chance you have of making a sale to them.
Marketing is an art as well as a numbers game. The best marketers know how to reach prospective customers, which is more than just number crunching. They know how to make people tick and what makes them buy.
There is a huge focus on numbers when it comes to internet marketing. Thousands or even millions of potential customers will see an ad or receive an email. You might think that success is guaranteed when you advertise to so many people.
This is not altogether true. Just because you reach a lot of people does not necessarily mean a certain percentage of them will want to buy from you. You do need to get the marketing message to as many people as possible but it is also vital to make sure you are advertising to the right people.
Good marketing should disappear behind the ad copy and neat graphics. The marketing message should come through easily to motivate and interest the right people. If marketing is done well, the products can sell themselves.

talking about.
What other proof do you need? (As for me, 100 million dollars
proof is good enough for me.)
This is the kind of money that gets my juice flowing real fast.
What about you?
To illustrate to you the power and the genius of this marketing
god, the writer, VJ, the creator of this ultimate business
marketing “secret”, here is an excerpt of his letter at his
website, in his own words:
“No matter how hard I tried, it always seemed like I wasn’t
going to amount to anything real important in life. And this
really sucked because I had a passion for the finer things. I
wanted the gold Rolex, the sporty Mercedes, and the
Million-Dollar Mega Mansion!
But when I looked in the mirror, I didn’t like what I saw. I was
convinced the good life I wanted was just a dream.
But that was all about to change. Seriously- by the time I was
19, I had a brand-new Corvette. At 20, I had 2 brand-new
Mercedes Benz automobiles. And at 21, I was the proud owner of a
Rolls Royce Silver Spur!
By the time I turned 28… I made over $100 Million in gross
sales. I profited over $50 Million. I owned two homes- one of
them was 14,000 square feet and had a seven-car garage, a
billiards room and a resort-style pool with an underwater bar!
And I paid cash for the home!
In my garage, I had a red Lamborghini Diablo, a yellow Ferrari
360 Spider, a white Bentley Arnage Red Label, about 4 Mercedes,
and a 12-passenger Lincoln Town Car Limo!
My checking account had over $10 Million in it. I was earning
$400,000 in pay each and every week. That breaks down to $80,000
a day… or $10,000 an hour! And those figures were if I worked
5 days a week for eight hours a day, which I didn’t!
In the year 2002, I made more money than the CEOs of Federal
Express… eBay… Amazon.com… Time Warner… Apple
Computer… McDonalds… Microsoft… Nike… Yahoo… Ford
Motor Company… General Motors… and Goodyear Tire- COMBINED!
Yes-COMBINED.
In the May 12th, 2003 issue, Forbes Magazine listed their top
paid 500 CEOs in America. Of their prominent and prestigious
list of the 500 CEOs, I made more money than 483 of them.
$17,549,000 MORE than the CEO of Starbucks.
$13,030,000 MORE than the CEO of Target.
$17,225,000 MORE than the CEO of Motorola.
Now, this may all seem like I’m some rich (&zxc$3@) bragging
about how rich I am… and you’re partly correct. I am bragging!
But more importantly, the reason why I’m telling you about all
this is that this course is about getting rich very quickly. If
the talk of obscene money makes you feel uncomfortable, or even
angers you, maybe you do not really want to be rich.
The reason why I’m telling you about all the toys I had when I
was just 28, is to prove to you that if a guy like me… with a
learning disability… a bad childhood… and no formal
education can get filthy rich by the time I was 28… you can
absolutely follow in my footsteps and build yourself your very
own empire of wealth!”
Even Gary Halbert says, “……believe it or not, much of this
information is so electrifying; it was unknown even to me.”
Gary Halbert is recognized all over the world as America’s
numero uno marketing authority.
Can you imagine Gary Halbert admitting in writing that VJ’s book
and marketing power secrets are electrifying to him? I need not
say more.
So, if you’re tired of having websites that are not making any
money or tired of making nickels and dimes and tired of all the
lousy promotional secrets from the so called internet gurus
(that don’t work), and you’re finally ready to turn over a new
leaf and get serious about creating real wealth from whatever
products, programs or services you currently market, may be you
should consider finding out more about VJ’s super secret
business marketing book.

really sucked because I had a passion for the finer things. I
wanted the gold Rolex, the sporty Mercedes, and the
Million-Dollar Mega Mansion!

Sales and Marketing…important But Separate
In boom times, sales easily come in and businesses can get away with little or no marketing plans because customers are prevalent. On the contrary, in the lean times when the economy is tight, more businesses face the need to market their business. In my experience as a marketing consultant and freelance commercial writer (aka copywriter), I have encountered numerous businesses that are either afraid of marketing or confuse it with sales. The two are separate yet equally important functions of all businesses.
Sales is easy to understand and easy to see. Sales is simply converting non-customers to customers. Boom…a transaction is made when a buyer finds a seller that serves his or her need. Sales is pretty black and white. A sale is either made or not made.
Marketing on the other hand is often an invisible function of a business. A lot of marketing activities involve planning and strategies that before launched can require a large time commitment. This is work that is done “behind the scene” (think of it as behind-the-“seen”). Once the marketing strategies are in place (defining the target and secondary markets; creating plans to reach those markets; determining strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (also referred to as SWOT analysis), competitive information, etc.), the marketer then creates campaigns or activities to reach those markets using terminology and strategy that supports what was learned in the above-mentioned activities (SWOT analysis, target market segmentation, etc.). The result of all this planning and implementation is what sets marketing apart from sales.
Marketing is creating awareness, building demand, creating brand identity, and in effective campaigns, it is also creating leads to give to the sales team to convert to sales. In order to run a successful business throughout the cyclical nature of business and the often temperamental economic climate, businesses need to understand what marketing is, the role of marketing in their business, and understand the importance of investing dollars into a marketing budget. By investing time and money into a strategy, businesses can enjoy a less-volatile sales figure by keeping the pipeline full of leads and ensuring that all marketing campaigns created to generate more business are efficient by targeting the right crowd with the right message.
Marketing doesn’t have to be scary. Running a business without a marketing plan is scary and without it, what do you have to lean on in a tight economy?

2 Step Direct-marketing: Your Secret Weapon to Boosting Income Direct Selling Home Parties Even in a Recession!
Would you like to increase your home based business profits by 50% without increasing your marketing budget?
Direct sales opportunity, with the current economic and market situations as they are, is fast gaining ground and popularity as an alternative source of income. Any direct sales consultant with a home business, you know that marketing is a fundamental to building any successful direct sales home party business. Where many a home party plans business owner stumble, struggle and fail is not knowing to whom they are marketing and how to market both online and offline!
You see the common urge in the mlm direct marketing industry is to try and crumb something down the throat of a would be customer.
When you get a potential customer, many will do an immediate sales pitch. It is unfortunately premature and turns people off! A better method, that any direct sales marketing guru will tell you and a business best practice is the 2 step direct marketing.
Simply put, 2 step direct sales marketing is based on giving something away for free, or at low cost, with the purpose of getting something back in return. Of course that something is a sale, but beyond that is the relationship. The idea here is to start small and build. You want to obliterate concerns before you sell them anything – this is what is termed as pre-selling.
Step 1: Give away something, time, free samples, free demos, a free report, free session of coaching or consulting.
Step 2: Get their contact information and permission to market to them. This is called dripping information. No hard sells please. In this phase you are building rapport and trust. Why? So that you can begin to exert your influence. Ever heard of the phrase Jump! How high? Good, that is the power you will command if your engage in the 2 step process!
So here is the psychology behind it You get a visitor to your site or meet a potential customer/business builder.
What you want to do is get their
1.Attention
2.Permission
3.Interact
4.Trust
5.Influence
You want to craft an irresistible offer, to raise the fever pitch if you will.. In doing so you will get their attention and in effect raise anticipation.
If you place and ad in a paper, mail out a postcard or have a website, the best way to get attention is an irresistible headline. For example
How To Have “Killer” Sex
At Any Age… Even If
You Don’t Deserve It!
I have a feeling that got your attention and you are headed to google search to figure out if the book exists. At the time of this writing, I have not yet ascertained the validity nor the existence of the book.
Your attention getting message must be compelling create a compelling giving just enough information about the product to get the prospect to take some sort of action. Invoke curiosity….
Direct Sales Training Tip : Use the useful but incomplete rule…don’t give it all always. You now what they say, why buy the cow if you can milk it for free?
2. Call to action: There is no point in crafting an irresistible offer only to drop the ball. People like sheep, must be led every step of the way.
A call to action is the desired action you would like the potential prospect, client or customer to make. For example Click Here To Order. Limitted Time Offer. While Supplies Last. Get Your Free Copy Today!
The purpose of the call to action is an exchange of information. You are capitalizing on their desire to get their hands on what you have in return for their name, phone number, email address and where possible a physical mailing address! This is called getting people to raise their hand for information. This is the essence of <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://www.sethgodin.com/permission/”>permission marketing</a>, a term that is associated with Seth Godin, Marketing Demi-god!
Those who raise their hands for information become very hot direct sales leads. These are great business opportunity prospects and an excellent way to build a list.
As every direct sales representative or home party consultant knows, the “fortune is in the follow-up!” Once the information exchange that was initiated by you is done and you have provided them with the requested information don’t stop there. Now you get into the direct sales marketing relational capital area of things! You all know of the dismal statistics
“95% OF PEOPLE FAIL WHEN THEY START A BUSINESS WITHOUT A SYSTEM.
95% PERCENT OF PEOPLE ARE SUCCESSFUL WHEN THEY START A BUSINESS WITH A SYSTEM! “
- Entrepreneur Magazine
This is a direct result of lack of follow up and follow through!
Contrary to popular opinion, the money is not in the list. If you haven’t heard this before “the money is in the follow-up” so continually follow up. Once you have permission to market to people set up an email marketing campaign! If you don’t have an autoresponder, get one, this is the easiest way to follow up. Send them an email as often as necessary to create a relationship and remind them of your backend product. Don’t just do hard selling here. I am a strong proponent of direct mail efforts with a combination of email marketing!
2 step direct – marketing method is a time tested marketing method and will produce targeted prospects for your home based business. The idea here is work smarter not harder!

Sales Training For Senior Manager Performance Improvement
Sales training courses for senior managers in sales and marketing is a solid investment into creating a sales team that is capable of consistent high performance results while being managed effectively and efficiently. Although senior sales managers have a solid foundation in sales skills and basic management skills, over confidence and complacency can blind an excellent senior manager to new performance improvement strategies. Advanced sales training courses can maximize the effectiveness and efficiency potential of your senior sales managers and improve performance of the sales management team. An increase in the performance of your senior sales manager will improve performance from the sales management team and staff sales force.
An investment in advanced sales training for senior sales managers can produce a substantial return for your company. A senior sales manager is well-positioned to be considered a reliable and stable investment that will produce yearly returns. The turnover of senior sales managers is inherently lower than that of the entry level sales-trainee staff, and returns from your sales training investment will be blanketed over the changing generations of your sales force team. Your senior sales manager is your rock and your foundation. The more solid your rock, the more solid your sales performance.
Rocks become solid by accumulating change. To improve the performance of your senior sales managers, the senior managers must be kept abreast of changes in sales, marketing and management, and be introduced to new techniques, sales strategies, organizational management methods and human resource issues. A senior sales manager must have a broad outlook over the many facets of sales, marketing and management. It is impossible to learn the broad landscape of sales and marketing management with strictly on-the-job training.
Advanced sales training for senior sales managers can contribute to the senior sales manager’s performance potential by broadening an understanding and recognition of performance indicators, motivational measurement, developing strategic goal setting techniques, analyzing customer relationship management and CRM systems, and refining communication skills with the sales staff, sales management team, sales and marketing departments and executive management. Advanced sales training for senior sales management can also train the senior level manager how to pass on skills to other members of the sales team. By providing continuous sales training to senior management, the senior sales manager will not feel threatened to do so.
Advanced sales training courses for senior sales managers and sales executives can keep your senior management team motivated to perform. A senior sales manager must be skilled in advanced sales training, sales and marketing strategies and team playing, human resource training, and organizational management. To get the highest performance out of your senior sales manager, and out of your sales management team, invest in advanced sales training for your senior sales managers and bring the skills into your firm that will accumulate to demonstrate solid long-term performance growth. Your senior sales manager is your foundation to long-term sales growth, and the more you invest in senior management with advanced sales training, the more your rock-solid profits will grow.

Revolutionizing On-line Marketing: New On-Line Marketing Model and CPD Tracking Technology
Until now there have been four primary on-line advertising models widely used by online marketers:
- Pay Per Impression. CPM model.
- Pay Per Click. CPC model.
- Pay Per Lead. CPL model.
- Pay Per Action. CPA model.
In this article we describe a new model that was introduced by IdeaMama Ad Network, B2C & B2B marketing agency in April of 2009 – Pay Per Deal.
The Pay Per Impression model.
Cost per impression, often abbreviated to CPI, is a phrase often used in online advertising and marketing. It is used for measuring the value and the cost of a specific e-marketing campaign. This technique is applied with web banners, text links, and e-mail advertising.
An online advertisement impression is a single appearance of an advertisement on a Web page. Each time an advertisement loads onto a user’s screen, the ad server may count that loading as one impression. However, the ad server may be programmed to exclude from the count certain non-qualifying activity such as a reload, internal user actions, and other events that the advertiser and ad serving company agree to exclude.
CPM (cost per thousand) is frequently used by advertisers; it relates to the cost for a thousand page impressions. For publishers the related abbreviation RPM (revenue per thousand impressions) is usually used.
Pay Per Click model.
For online advertising, the numbers of views can be a lot more precise. When a user requests a Web page, the originating server creates a log entry. Also, a third-party tracker can be placed in the Web page to verify how many accesses that page receives.
CPC is an Internet advertising model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content sites, such as blogs, in which advertisers pay their host only when their ad is clicked.
Websites that use CPC ads will display an advertisement when a keyword query matches an advertiser’s keyword list, or when a content site displays relevant content.
The CPC advertising model is open to abuse through click fraud, even though some search engines try to implement various automated systems to guard against abusive clicks by competitors or corrupt Web developers.
Pay Per Lead model.
In CPL campaigns, advertisers pay for an interested lead (the contact information of a person interested in the advertiser’s product or service). CPL campaigns are suitable for direct response marketers looking to engage consumers at multiple touch points — by building member acquisition programs.
Pay Per Action model.
In CPA campaigns, the advertiser typically pays for a completed sale involving a credit card transaction. CPA is all about ‘now’ — it focuses on driving consumers to buy at that exact moment. If a visitor to the website doesn’t buy anything, there’s no easy way to re-market to them.
Pay Per Deal model; revolutionizing the advertising industry.
Here is how Olga Kostrova, the CEO of IdeaMamaAdNetwork.com, a sales, marketing & advertising company, describes their innovative approach to on-line marketing. This innovation seems especially significant in the current economy where advertising budgets are shrinking and companies are going out of business due to their inability to reach their clients and solicit new business with limited marketing resources.
“CPM/CPC/CPL models rely on budgeted advertising dollars,” says Olga. “CPA is the only model that reduces the risk of low conversion because it is based on performance only (sales). While this opportunity is available for consumer products, and a limited number of business products and services that are sold on-line, it is absolutely not suitable for companies that close business off-line, or those that don’t rely on Web-based shopping carts for accepting payment. These companies usually have a long sales cycle or they market highly priced products and services. An average order can vary from $10,000 up to as high as $100,000,000. If you run an IT service company, real estate development company, or a luxury yacht manufacturer, there is no way you can use currently available technologies to run on-line Pay Per Action campaigns.
In contrast, our CPD (cost per deal) model is supported by powerful tracking technology. It is extremely beneficial for both advertisers and publishers. For advertisers it’s a new performance marketing opportunity. For publishers it’s a new avenue of traffic monetization — collecting 5-20% in commission/finder’s fees for $100,000 deals can be a very lucrative way to generate new business. Plus, the CPD model minimizes the efforts of your marketing and sales staff. CPM is a hard sell, while CPD is a dream comes true — who doesn’t prefer to pay a finder’s fee for booked business, instead of paying for advertising that may or may not be effective?. Pay Par Deal is simply best marketing model for those who wants their MROI to be consistantly high.”
Affiliate marketing derives its influence from the ease with which user activity may be observed and tracked across multiple websites and other media by leveraging the co-operation of a merchant and a network of affiliates who advertise or promote the merchant’s offers.
While books, airline tickets, and other commodities may be sold this way, many products and services require a more consultative approach. Here the majority (or totality) of the sales process may occur offline. Unfortunately for the referral partners who initiate sales, there’s no easy way to gain visibility into this process once it is in the hands of the merchant.
IdeaMama Ad Network addresses this problem by integrating the traditional tracking methods used by affiliate marketing with a system of tracking sales information as a customer moves through the sales pipeline. All information about the sale, such as the probability of closing, what part of the sales pipeline the customer is in, and other information is now available for reporting to affiliates.
Affiliates may now see a report from the merchant or ad/referral network that shows how many customers are at each stage of the sales process, how many customers (and their deal value) are at what probability of closing, the estimated time frame to close, and other detailed reports, in addition to the common reports about what campaigns are producing the best results. Without such visibility, affiliates lack the motivation to promote offers that have a longer sales cycle or those that are not easily tracked and verified.
The visibility into the sales pipeline is delivered to affiliates, allowing them to understand the potency of their promotion efforts and the likely gains they will experience. Naturally, they may view this information either online or through offline reports. In addition, the commissions that affiliates receive are clearly documented.
By applying the CPD (cost per deal) model, now publishers and affiliates can tap into a portion of the advertiser’s profits. It can become a lucrative opportunity for any potential affiliate who has a website – from a blogger to a publishing powerhouse.
The benefit of CPD for publishers:
- The potential revenue is higher because the commissions are higher than those for the CPM/CPC models – therefore more (and better) affiliates are likely to sign on.
- There is no risk for publishers, except, of course, for the value of the ad space they dedicate to the program; therefore starting from unsold inventory is a risk-free undertaking. It requires no resources from the publishers to track and monitor each sale, because the processes and the technologies that IdeaMamaAdNetwork.com provides are refined and very easy to use.
- Publishers can track the entire process from the moment users click on an ad to the moment they transfer payment to an advertiser. IdeaMama’s revolutionary patent-pending technology provides full transparency for publishers (isn’t this every affiliate’s dream?) letting them observe how their leads move through the merchant’s pipeline.
- It not only gives them confidence in using their ad inventory for such campaigns, but it also enables them to estimate income from each campaign for the next six months using IdeaMama’s stats’ facilities and reports.
There has been a lot of buzz about publishers loosing business during the current recession. But now, because they can service previously untapped advertisers, the whole problem becomes insignificant, and their business may easily expand as brick-and-mortar merchants seek new ways of reaching larger markets.

Choosing The Right Marketing Company
Marketing online and offline couldn’t be more complex and competitive than it is today. Markets have fragmented and advertising mediums have splintered into hundreds of specialized niches, all requiring specialized expertise in order to achieve respectable results. Marketing channels too, are splintered and controlled by conglomerates. It’s a realm that is often beyond the average marketers view let alone their ability to control it.
Promotional marketing is generally seen as the tail end of the campaign, however if a companies overall marketing activities don’t support its objectives and timing, the results are often poor, and the promotions manager gets to take the blame for the failure.
Choosing a good marketing company to integrate these complicated promotional channels is a task in itself since many will promise exceptional marketing campaign results yet few will deliver what you expect. When they fail, will you know where the problem was or will you have to chalk it up to experience and start all over again?
Why is it that many marketing firm’s promotional programs and implementation fail? Primarily because they don’t understand this fragmentation of media. Integrated marketing isn’t just a buzzword. Multi-channel marketing tactics need to be developed and coordinated by a campaign manager and carried out as a systematic program. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of skilled promotional marketing experts and a limited number of marketing companies that have a national network of marketing channel partners and contacts. Integrated marketing can’t be done well by small marketing companies that arrange deals with other independents. Large marketing companies have the resources, and the network of established channel partners that ensure your products are promoted from distribution to point of sale.
Marketing Promotion
Since marketing and advertising channels have become so fragmented, it is difficult for an advertiser to reach and affect a target consumer. Advertisers can no longer take access to consumers for granted and it takes a concerted effort to reach a consumer a number of different ways. Promotional marketing campaigns have to consider multiple mediums including the Internet to achieve optimal promotional and sales results. When they work together, they can register with the consumer audience, and ensure that your products are distributed to where they need to be at the right time.
We hear a lot about Internet marketing and its incredible reach, and it is excellent for communications and setting up brand awareness and purchase desire. However, for consumer goods companies, few promotional channels surpass retail store promotion. The retail store location is where the sale is made, and when your promotional program is focused to work well here, you’re likely to see things go well. A sale can be lost at the point of sale, much to the consternation of firms with weak connections and retail sales training programs. They’re unable to respond to sales rep issues and the demands of consumers, and when the consumer loses confidence or interest, they won’t commit to buying the product.
Sales transactions are complex and premiums and incentives are a key part of whether your product will make it to the store shelves and receive the right sales support. Once your products leave the warehouse, they’re on their own, unless a professional promotional marketing company is supporting them at the retail level.
Strong Integrated Channels
Marketing channels are complicated too, and if the connections in your network aren’t strong throughout, your sales can come to shuddering halt. Don’t think marketing channel members don’t know about your distribution vulnerabilities too. They know you’re an independent and they have their primary loyalties to bigger manufacturers and distributors. Your products may get secondary status and receive no sales support.
So what happens during fragmented promotional campaigns? Many marketing promotion campaigns are marred by poor point of sale signage, supplier communication blocks, unreliable reporting, warehouse fulfillment problems, poor sales support, poor sales training, along with high costs and outdated technology. A marketing promotion can fail many different ways and you need to understand why. When you’re spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on campaign development and distribution activities, and have committed to a particular marketing company, your company’s future is on the line.
What you need is a reliable marketing company that possesses the warehousing and database systems, fulfillment practices, and sales support network to ease distribution and communication problems.
If you’re still managing your marketing promotion campaigns in-house, you should consider outsourcing to a promotional advertising and marketing firm that offers a complete variety of support service. From campaign planning to post-sales customer support, these companies can take a burden off your hands and actually give you an edge in the retail promotions space.
Big promotional marketing companies have developed capabilities in producing creative and effective POS marketing materials, print advertising pieces, packaging, warehouse automation, and retail distribution. They can help you manage large scale orders on demanding deadlines because their state of the art electronic systems are set up to do this. They provide solutions for billing/invoicing, customized reporting, and warehouse distribution of your marketing collateral. From EDI transactions to Web-based reporting tools, they have a command of the marketing fulfillment process and can give you an excellent awareness of your marketing campaign performance. Just working with these companies once can make you a better marketing manager.
So give yourself a break and bring in the full service promotional consultants and then start seeing your marketing campaigns hit the mark. As part of a complete integrated, promotional marketing campaign, these service companies will save money, time, and reduce communication problems, and thus save your future marketing channel relationships.
The marketing company to choose is Archway. They deliver exceptional marketing solutions. This top rated promotional marketing company offers a wide range of promotional marketing services including marketing fulfillment.
