Comments on: What kind of a customer service rating would you give Firestone auto care and survey on thier honesty?

Firestone is still a chain store. As with any chain store youll have the good ones and the bad ones. It all depends on the management and how well they really want to take care of the customer. Ive worked at three different Firestone/Bridgestone stores, all three handled things differently, with one thing in common, Try to get as much money out of the customer as possible. You know that wonderful free check they will do for you when they first take you vehicle in, well that is there way to find anything they possibly can wrong with your car, then its up to the salesman to sell everything they can to you.
Also, since all a different, one said that they dont have the expertise… Well not all of them do, but for the most part they always try to have at least one top Tech there to tackle the reall baffleing things. We did every major to minor repair neccessary at our stores, even rebuilds when neccessary. So after all that spill my rating on the store itself… shen you get to a ‘good’ one I would say between a 2 and 3… on honesty, For the most part if you get it from the mechanics a 2, you get it form most of the salesmen… Ill say a 5, I hated the way they lied to make a sale. Thats why i left to open my own place.

It really depends on which store, every store is different, which goes for any company. All in all I would give them a 3.

LETS BE HONEST OKAY………

1. THEY ARE NOT REALLY AN AUTO REPAIR FACILITY.

2. THEY WILL CHEAT YOU EVERY CHANCE THEY GET.

3. THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO TROUBLE SHOOT ANYTHING.

4. THE ONLY REASON PEOPLE GO THERE IS BECAUSE YOU CAN CHARGE IT.

5. THEY ARE HIDING BEHIND THE FIRESTONE NAME THAT IS POOR ANYWAY.

6. THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT THAT ANY CHAIN STORE THAT CLAIMS THAT THEY CAN REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE.

7. I ALMOST FORGOT, WE GET COUPONS TO USE SO YOU DON’T FEEL TO BAD AFTER YOU GET THE BILL.

I’d give them just a 3. they really don’t have specially trained mechanics to perform complex issues.

I was working out of town and told my wife to take the car in to a Firestone store and to “get a brake job” done on it.

When I got back home that Friday, my wife was in tears, she showed me the bill. It was for $455.00. This would be very close to over $1000 in today’s dollars. They replace a front rotor, a rear wheel drum, both wheel cylinders (which were good and were not leaking) and the pads.

When I called them about it, I was told that “That is what we do for a brake job, or we can’t guarantee it.” I asked him, what did you do to the master cylinder? He said, “nothing”

They totally ripped my wife off, and there was nothing I could do about it. That was the last time they got any of my business. This was 30 years ago.

So what rating do you think I give them.

Almost forgot. To top it off, I had one rear wheel that had 2 lug nuts tightened and the other 3 were just barely started on the lugs.

Thanks for reminding me, (No, I’m not still bitter about this)

That’s a pretty general question. I’m sure that, with all the Firestone centers out there, some are good and some are bad. I’ve used a couple in my area. The prices seem a bit higher than some places, but then, I’m a bargain hunter. I never really had a complaint about the work, but they didn’t impress me either.

I only go to Sears auto care….for my car services. I wouldn’t know about Firestone!!!
